Behold a Pale Horse

Any conspiracy theorists out there? I'm a bit embarrassed to do this to you two posts in a row, but check this out. Talk about subversive forces at work. If you have an extra 15 minutes and are a fan of Dave Chappelle, this is definitely worth the read.

I'm headin' back to New York tonight to go spend Christmas with the fam. Merry X-mas, Happy Chanuka, Boxing Day, Kwanza, "Other", and Festivus to you all. Ok while I'm at it ( and after that last non-committal, multi denominational blessing), check out one of my favorite web posters, Dusty. I think he has a great take on the recent blurring of the holiday season here in America. See that here. Ha has another, more personal blog out there under another pseudonym if you care to track it down. Dude is funny.

update...after seeing Dave exhibiting an inability to divulge anything in a straight-forward manner during his re-emergence interviews, I am convinced the attached theory is correct.

Keeping up with the Jones'

On rare occasions I am on top of things, but most of the time I feel pretty out of the loop. Thanks to my buddy Aaron, I finally feel like I have a leg up on something. Fads and trends come and go, but I think this one might have some staying power. I'm sharing this with the two or three of you that read this in the hopes that you will spread it to the worthy people in your lives. It's a small invesment to get started, but I think the return on this one will be priceless.

The Nightmare Before Christmas

Like I said, I'm back and I have some things to share...My friend Brett and his girl Nikki threw a kick-ass Halloween party this year and have been so for the past few years. Courtesy of my sister, we were able to jet out there for the weekend and attend. Brett is an amazing artist, and every year he creates more and more decorations that accumulate and carry over from year after year. I took a ton of photos, and as soon as I upgrade my flickr account I can upload more. For now, here are a half dozen to check out. Anyway, he makes all these elaborate posters, skulls, coffins, etc. that lines the walls along with a thick web of spider silk and it's all set off with several strategically placed black lights. In addition to all the new decorations, he built a life sized coffin for Nikki (who was a vampiress), and a comically over-sized double barrel shotgun for himself (he was a crazy hillbilly hunter) I had the honor of hanging with the Surly Monkey, who I had not seen in some time. That's always a good time. Needless to say, we had a great time and I hope those guys keep up the tradition forever.

US Navy's Best and Brightest

Ok, back to posting a bit more regularly. While away from the WWW, I had the opportunity to do some pretty cool shit; one of those things was getting to check out the Blue Angels flying over San Francisco during Fleet Week. This was largely thanks to a friend, who despite having a family function was nice enough to give a few of us access to the roof of his building. He shall remain nameless due to the "you let non-residents on our roof committee". That put us 27 stories skyward in the Embarcadero neighborhood. Besides the parade of Navy Ships, there was a Red Bull prop-plane aerobatic race earlier in the afternoon, followed by various aerial shows culminating in the flight of the Angels. I took a bunch of pictures, check them out. I was up there feeling all,"America-F#@K-Yeah"! So that was cool.
Ever heard of The Parrots of Telegraph Hill? Well, I had not as of yet. They're real and I got to see them flocking around several stories below, and later when I left, they happened to be hanging out in a tree I was passing on my way back to the Muni. Took some pictures of them as well.

$#@%*& FINA-F'ING-LY!

After a sixth of a year hiatus, my Internet service has been restored. Transmit capabilities re-activaded. Stay tuned for a data dump. Plenty of photographic evidence of real-live actual events happening and searingly witty commentary to follow shortly.
